AMERICAN AXLE MANUFACTURING (Power Transfer Units), • Responsible for engineering design of automotive driveline power transfer units to meet customer specifications and project timing. • Lead development of product for customer evaluation including making prototype hardware, engineering presentations and manage engineering resources. • Support prototype hardware builds to meet customer timing. • Develop aluminum die-castings through supplier cooperative engineering from initial design through PPAP.
• Engineering contact to US OEM for Japanese tier one drivetrain supplier. Ensure completion of validation plan, support PPAP documentation and monitor customer assembly sites for potential issues. • Direct communications between customer and Japanese design and manufacturing departments to ensure timely resolution of issues. • Administer engineering document transmissions to customer including releasing math data into GM-Teamcenter
• Responsible for all engineering aspects of the rear drive unit and development to meet customer vehicle requirements. • Coordinate fulfillment of DFMEA, DVP&R and engineering drawings for program. • Establish GD&T scheme with module assembler and OEM. • Developed aluminum cast housing and other components for program.
• Engineering contact to the customer for propshaft and halfshaft products, from initial design proposal through full volume production support. • Established bill of materials, coordinated engineering drawings and oversaw validation. • Prepared design proposals and prototypes, based on available vehicle data, to secure contract for customer programs. • Presented technical design reviews to customers in order to achieve their buy-in on new programs or product improvements. • Implemented cost reductions through design and process changes. • Coordinated changes to product designs in order to achieve quality improvement, cost effectiveness, or to meet demanding customer requirements. • Coordinated testing for both new programs launch and validation of process or product changes. Responsible for DVP&R, test report publication and test sample preparation and storage. • Reduce duration of required testing allowing for accelerated program launches through the use of statistical data analysis, including Weibull methods. • Established root cause of failures from both test benches and field returns to implement corrective measures.
