Police Officer: uniformed patrol and member of the special response team. Assignments and Capabilities: SWAT/SRT: -Hostage Rescue -Armed Barricade -High Risk Warrant Service -Dignitary Protection -Counterterrorism -Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, Explosives (CBRNE/WMD Response, "Level B") -Work alongside local, state, and federal partners to locate, track, and arrest armed and dangerous suspects, wherever they are, both within and outside of jurisdictional lines PATROL: -Response to any and all emergencies, to include criminal, mental health, and medical situations -Defuse tense situations through de-escalation techniques or by the use of force -Investigate violations of local, state, and federal laws -Arrest offenders who are found to have violated the law -Interact with the community on a daily basis, meeting with people from all walks of life -Act as a mediator during civil issues -Testify in court hearings and trials -Interview victims, witnesses, and suspects during criminal investigations -Prepare detailed, written reports and affidavits for documentation and court related purposes TAC MED INSTRUCTOR : -Certified by the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) to teach basic tactical medical applications. -Teach and demonstrate the proper order of triage, to provide the most immediate and effective care where there is imminent threat of further serious bodily injury or death to the victim. -Teach officers how to control massive hemorrhaging to extremedies, treat obstructed airways, tension pneumothorax, and hypothermia through the use of tourniquets (commercial or makeshift), the use of regular/hemostatic gauze to pack wounds, the use of pressure dressings, the use of nasopharyngeal airways, and the use of mylar blankets, all while controlling a threat area and maintaining proper tactics/situational awareness in rapidly changing environments. -Teach officers ways to extract victims from a threat and transport them to a higher level of care. FIREARMS INSTRUCTOR: -Certified by the State Police as a Firearms Instructor for Pistol/Rifle/Shotgun -Grade, evaluate, and qualify police officers on their shooting skills to make sure they fall within state regulations -Create and develop lesson plans regarding the use of force, firearms, and tactics DEFENSIVE TACTICS INSTRUCTOR: -Certified to teach Gracie Survival Tactics Level 1 (Jiu Jitsu based techniques) -Teach/Coach/Assist police officers in the use of defensive tactics, compliance, and control techniques MANUAL BREACHING INSTRUCTOR: -Halligan, Wedge, Ram, JTC Claw, etc.
