Barnstable County, Massachusetts, United States
Just retired after close to 34 years! In addition to supervising 6 outstanding public safety dispatchers, I also oversee just about everything electronic in the department to include its computer network, all PC's and mobile computers, mobile phones, telephone system, radio systems, printers, etc. I also am the department's CJIS Representative and the chairman for CJIS Region 7. I am also the department's liaison to the MA Sex Offender Registry Board. I also produce and disseminate all applicable court discovery when requests for radio traffic, telephone calls, and various types of video recordings pertinent to arrests and/or criminal investigations are required.
Involved in sales, installation, and service of the then popular C band satellite dish systems, as well as terrestrial antenna systems. Also worked extensively in the pre-wiring of new construction for television and often telephone.
After boot camp in Cape May NJ (Oscar 110) from June to August of 1981, I spent 6 months in sunny (?) Petaluma California at USCG Radioman "A" School, followed by assignment to the Coast Guard Cutter Gallatin, a 378' cutter stationed at Governor's Island NY. I was released from Active Duty on 6/7/85 and honorably discharged two years later.
