As the Director of Used Vehicle Services works with the Executive Team to create and achieve overall strategic business plans as it relates to the Used Vehicle Services (UVS) and Birchwood Reconditioning Center (BRC) teams. Overseeing asset management and performance, the Director leads Teams to consider and achieve financial results. The Director leads the UVS and BRC teams by promoting and developing plans for continuous improvement. The Director collaborates with the several internal and external strategic teams to create technology improvements to reduce waste and redundancy in all operations. Internal collaboration can be difficult, revealing and often a change of heart, especially when data is pure and telling. Being able to driver this message is key. In addition, he/she acts as a liaison with all Birchwood Used Car Managers and relevant support services. Responsible for independent financial results, the Director must manage several strategic revenue streams while considering opportunities for cost savings. In this role, I have been involved in several strategic initiative launches, coupled with software development, planning and deployment. These initiatives have resulted in excess of $1.5M of net profitability and a reduction of required capital strains of over $10,000,000 annualized.
The Operations Manager ensures customer retention, profitability and assumes responsibility for appraising, purchasing, reconditioning, displaying and merchandising the used vehicle inventory. Responsible to run an efficient department through productive staffing, cost controls, achievement of objectives, and maintenance of all service records. He/She ensures that the daily operation of internal service work meets or exceeds the set objectives.
