When I was growing up in India, my father ran a successful agricultural supply business. Beginning early in my teenage years, he tasked me with management and problem solving, giving me the space to find my own methods to achieve our goals. Over time, I learned that the best pathway to success isn’t always following the paths that others have taken, but rather adapting to each unique situation to find the solution of best fit. My formal education includes training in both law and science, which has helped me understand how to best navigate an ever-changing frontier in technology development. Working in tech in the US for as long as I have, one of my favorite ways to interact with my superiors within a corporate structure is to ask for the hardest problem and offer to solve it. Rarely do I know how to solve it when I accept the challenge, but I know I’m able to work with others and think creatively to find success. I love solving for scale and working with talent that’s collaborative, innovative, and curious. Together, we’ll build architecturally elegant software systems, use technology to drive revenue growth and success, and develop new tools and solutions that are scalable and operationally viable.
In this role, I'll be leading global technology teams across the full spectrum of payments technology - from digital experiences and payment gateways to hardware and POS systems. I'm excited to leverage my experience to accelerate innovation and create seamless integrations across Verifone's comprehensive portfolio, delivering enhanced value to our customers worldwide.
In this role, I proudly serve Varo Bank’s consolidated Technology Organization, comprising of Engineering, Data Engineering, AI / ML, Product and Product Design teams.
In this role I am proud to serve Clover's entire engineering organization, with consolidated hardware and software teams serving the needs of our growing business and our customers.
Clover is a dynamic tech startup owned by Fiserv (previously First Data) offering Point-of-Sale solutions to small business owners across a wide variety of verticals. I am responsible for the entire engineering team of 350 engineers at Clover, including product engineering (mobile, web, and device), quality, performance and release mgmt, platform engineering, payments, payment integrations and device OS, infrastructure/platform engineering, technical operations (devops) developer platform and support/tooling. My engineering teams are based in NYC, Sunnyvale, Atlanta, Omaha, Colorado Springs, King of Prussia, and Taipei. As this position develops, I’m currently working on effective scaling of our team, platform, support model, and development engagement. I’m doing so by deepening our diverse team of high-performing engineers and establishing an empathetic leadership team to ensure healthy, sustainable growth. I ran the Apps and Mobile Engineering division at Clover. I am very proud of the work my squads tackles: we serve small business merchants by building apps and features on Clover devices (Station, Mini, Mobile, Flex), web (Virtual Terminal), and mobile (Clover Go). This includes an App Market for developers that allows them to monetize the building and publishing of apps that merchants can choose to install and use on their devices. I began this role with a team of 70 talented engineers, but I successfully recruited and grew the team to 120 to assist in scaling new products and technology.
First Data (now Fiserv) is a global technology leader in the financial services industry operating in 35 countries. They provide secure and innovative payment technology and services for more than six million merchants and institutions. I led the team that built Clover Go—a mobile POS system on iOS and Android that is fully EMV certified. The app accepts card-not-present and card-present payments: swipe (magnetic stripe), dip (chip), tap (NFC), Apple Pay, Android Pay, and Samsung Pay via an audio jack based and/or a Bluetooth-based card reader. I built the team, the device, and the software from the ground up, and successfully delivered the fully EMV-certified product from ideation to commercial launch within 9 months.
I was hired to be part of the team that built Payeezy—First Data's Payment API—which was one of the first gateways to support in-app Apple Pay for our merchants. In addition to being a hands on engineer building out the API, I also led the development of the developer portal that supports developer engagement and developer onboarding.
