For 6 years, Schwartz was president of Chilton Medical Center, a member of Atlantic Health System, one of the largest non-profit health care systems in New Jersey. In this role, she evaluated and elevated the medical center’s depth and breadth of high-quality services, focused on quality and patient outcomes, created strong community partnerships, and oversees all strategic operations of the facility. Schwartz also serves as a key executive for Atlantic Health System, and had responsibility for integrating Chilton Medical Center’s footprint within the Northern Region into Atlantic Health System’s Trusted Network of Caring. During the last 5 months of her tenure at Chilton Medical Center, Schwartz also served as interim President at Overlook Medical Center, a community teaching hospital in Atlantic Health System's Eastern Region of Summit, New Jersey. In November 2021, Schwartz became President of Overlook Medical Center.
Max's Smiling Sneaker Club is a community-focused organization that sponsors projects dedicated to supporting families and children in-need. Max's first project, which kicked off in December 2015 and concluded in February 2016, was dedicated to supporting the 26,000 children in Ocean County, NJ that live in poverty. For these children, their families cannot provide them with items like new sneakers. This project netted the donation of 100 pairs of new sneakers to children in need in Ocean County.
Under Bloom’s leadership strategic vision, the hospital was elevated from a primary healthcare provider to a state¬‐of-the¬‐art tertiary care center. She developed and implemented a strategic vision for the hospital based on the elevation of clinical services, including the implementation of an interventional and cardiac program, a neuroscience institute and the enhancement of oncology services. In this role, she was charged with liaising with the Board of Directors and implemented an education program on clinical services and evolving healthcare market. She led a 10¬‐member senior leadership team and administered $344M annual expense budget.
In her first year alone, Bloom developed and implemented a strong strategic plan that delivered $35M financial turnaround. In this role, she provided daily oversight for all hospital operations.
In the role of Chief Operating Officer of Southern Ocean County Hospital (now Southern Ocean Medical Center, a Meridian Health hospital), Bloom helped transition a small facility catering to summer vacationers into a full-service facility treating a growing population of year-round residents. She managed a team of eight senior leaders and oversaw strategic, daily operations.
Bloom was responsible for the strategic development and implementation of key revenue-producing clinical service lines including Rehabilitation Services, Ambulatory Surgery Center and the Cancer and Radiation Therapy Program.
In this role, Bloom managed the Division of Diagnostic, Therapeutic and Pharmacy Services, Engineering and Maintenance, Materials Management, Purchasing, Health and Fitness Center and Food Services.
