During my post-doctoral research with Prof. Gerhard Christofori (a world-renowned oncologist), I led, managed and collaborated across multi-functional teams of post-doctoral researchers, graduate students, Master's students, bio-informaticians and technicians to successfully complete the projects outlined below: • Discovered a novel long non-coding RNA ‘ET-20’ and its role in breast cancer (manuscript in revision). • Discovered the importance of Pygopus2-histone interaction in breast cancer progression (published in Cancer Research). This project was done in collaboration with the renowned molecular and developmental biologist, Prof. Konrad Basler (from University of Zurich). • ‘Tool development’: Developed and contributed a new cancer cell line, PyMT-1099 for preclinical research (published in Scientific Reports). • ‘Resource development’: Performed transcriptomics on cancer models to develop a precious in silico data mining resource for metastasis-related target discoveries. Was awarded 2 research grants for my project on “the role of long non-coding RNA in breast cancer” 1) University of Basel Research Fund for Excellent Junior Researchers (special funding from the L.&Th. La Roche Foundation for promotion of young researchers clinical research; 2019-2020). 2) Krebsliga Beider Basel Grant, Basel (2016-2017).
