Professor Saul Humphrey is the Senior Vice President of Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB). He becomes President in June 2026. The Chartered Institute of Building is the world’s largest professional body for construction management and leadership, with 50,000 members in more than 100 countries. In 2024, Saul was awarded the Chartered Institute of Building’s National “Sustainability Award." He is also the Managing Partner of his own consultancy practice eponymously named as Saul D Humphrey LLP. The practice is B Corp (certified). He is an experienced Managing Director, Consultant, Property Investor/Developer and Construction/Project Manager in the Construction sector, specialising in Sustainable Construction. Saul is Professor of Sustainable Construction at Anglia Ruskin University. Saul is also a Non Executive Director of Great Yarmouth Borough Council's housing development/property companies, Equinox Property Holdings Limited and Equinox Enterprises Limited; and Non-Executive Director/Independent Member of Norwich City Council’s East Norwich Strategic Regeneration Area (ENSRA) Delivery Board. Saul is a member of the Sustainability Advisory Board for The Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB); a Trustee and Ambassador of Construction East; Ambassador of Norfolk Constructing Excellence Club (NCEC); Norfolk Community Foundation's “Good for Good”; Changing Streams CIC; and he is the East of England past President, and past National Director, of the National Federation of Builders (NFB). He is also Chair of Building Growth (the construction, housing and property development sector group covering Norfolk and Suffolk). Saul is a Member of the United Kingdom Green Building Council; Suffolk Sustainability Institute (University of Suffolk); Norfolk Net Zero Advisory Board; and a Construction Leadership Council CO2nstructZero Business Partner. Saul also volunteers for Sounding Board and Norfolk ProHelp, now known as "Good for Good.” Saul is also a Climate Ambassador and co-opted Governor with University of East Anglia. Saul also chairs the Institute of Directors in Norfolk and Suffolk. Saul’s core purpose is to shift the paradigm towards more sustainable development. Saul was born at 322.31 ppm.
