I am a researcher working at the intersection of climate and health, with a background in environmental sciences. I enjoy working at the interface of science, policy and practice, and believe that strong research comes from bringing together the knowledge and perspectives of different experts. My strength lies in seeing the bigger picture of complex questions and connecting the dots. I enjoy combining different approaches – from GIS and data analysis to modelling and literature research – and finding the right combination of methods to understand a question. I am equally interested in translating scientific insights into clear and useful information for policy and practice. At the National Institute for Public Health and the Environment (RIVM), I research the health impacts of climate change, with a focus on climate adaptation. I naturally take responsibility, enjoy bringing people and knowledge together, and like turning ideas into tangible results. My interests lie at the intersection of climate, health, and nature/ecosystems.

My research focused on the effect of contrasting sustainable forest policies on land use in Europe and its consequences on ecosystem services. To achieve this, I improved the land system model of Europe from the institute and I created a forest management map of Europe. In addition, I also had the following tasks for the department: - Organising the weekly journal club for the whole department, to improve writing and reading skills - Organising a weekly PhD discussion/writing group, to improve collaboration within the group - Ensuring that the department website is up-to-date, so our data is easier to find
In collaboration with World Bank, I simulated the effects of management decisions on land use in Brazil using DynaCLUE. I learned how to apply this land use model in a short time.
I was responsible for maintaining the GIS project and keeping it up-to-date, which enabled BHM Solar to find the best spots for solar fields. Other responsibilities included: - Scouting municipalities for locations for solar fields using GIS - Helping with administrative work - Analysing local sustainable energy strategies and policies to find building restrictions
