Education Administrator with experience guiding K-8th grade students to success intellectually, emotionally, socially, and in personal growth. My career objectives include developing children's self-awareness, confidence, and creativity while challenging their minds. I am deeply gratified by serving parents and teachers in the partnership of providing for their children and students. Furthermore, having worked in the field of gifted education for over 15 years, I am eager to meet the unique needs of gifted and twice-exceptional children (and their parents). This population often struggles with perfectionism, anxiety, self-regulation, and rigidity in thought, all while needed more advanced and challenging curriculum. Providing for these asynchronous learners requires thinking creatively and teaching at multiple levels simultaneously. Differentiation is a necessity, as is understanding, patience, and joy. I am eager to educate not only children, but society about the complexity of the gifted profile so that these children can get the help that they need and deserve in all educational environments. I am also passionate about performing arts and have had experience teaching and directing students aged 3 - 75. I created a program and administrated a performing arts school which provided acting, singing, and dancing lessons, individual and group musical instrument lessons, master classes in acting and singing, summer theatre camps, plays, early childhood theatre education, and outreach to local schools to provide in-house and remote theatre experiences. In my current position, I find opportunities to direct and teach, and I work with Spindrift School of the Performing Arts to bring their expertise to our students. Specialties: Writing curriculum, teacher training, community networking, parent partnerships, marketing, managing budgets. Specialty performing arts areas include acting, directing, creative drama, musical theatre, make up design.
