My name is Sarone Kelete, and I'm interested in web development. Currently, I'm a 4th year Computer Science major at UC Santa Cruz and just concluded my internship with LinkedIn this past summer. After a variety of programs, research, and school experiences I am proficient in Python, C, C++, JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, CSS, SQL, and much more. I am always seeking opportunities to broaden my knowledge and delve into various fields, so let's connect and feel free to reach out :) Outside of academics, I'm a big fan of the outdoors, graphic design, music, and my motorcycle.

I coordinated major campus events, including Family Weekend 2025, in addition to acting as the primary point of contact via email for inquiring UCSC Families. My responsibilities include organizing volunteer teams, managing event timelines, and providing administrative support for large-scale university programming that enhances student and family engagement with the campus community.
Collaborate with Director of the Research Pathways Program at Baskin Engineering to increase undergraduates’ engagement with research opportunities within the Baskin School of Engineering at UC Santa Cruz and Cabrillo College as well. I personally facilitate the program at Cabrillo College to ensure its smooth operation and create promotional media to enhance visibility, effectively bridging the gap between the two schools. Additionally, I help organize and advertise events aimed at undergraduates interested in research opportunities at UCSC. This involves communicating with current research assistants to share their experiences and provide more information about research labs to students.
I conducted qualitative research analyzing student career development patterns and engagement in undergraduate research programs. My work involved cleaning and coding interview transcripts, performing thematic analysis to identify key patterns in student experiences, and synthesizing findings to inform program improvements. Through this research, I examined factors influencing student participation in research pathways and career exploration within the university context.
Implemented components designed by the UI/UX team. The mission is to develop systems--integrating design, modeling, and algorithms--to support individual and societal flourishing in work, education, community engagement, and governance.
