Ongoing Projects: Study supporting the preparation of a report on the application of the Rome II Regulation for the European Commission – DG Justice and Consumers) May 2020- April 2021 (link to the project page on BIICL’s website) • Co-drafted the successful offer in reply to the EU Commission tender • Fundraised EUR190.000+ for a 12-month research project • Part of the leadership team of the project as a Senior Expert • Coordinating a multinational team of 30+ more senior partners and national reporters • Ensuring timely meeting of deadlines and completion of deliverables throughout the study • Building surveys and conducting interviews with relevant stakeholders • Analyzing the data collected • Drafting the interim and final reports for the EU Commission Contract law and COVID-19 (2020) • Co-authored a collection of materials on the doctrines of force majeure, hardship and the impact of COVID-19 in 10+ legal systems (forthcoming on BIICL website) • Conducted comparative research in support of the Concept Note published by a group of former UK Supreme Court presidents and judges • Co-drafting a grant application for a 12-month project building on this research from a comparative perspective with a multinational team Other projects and activities: • Co-authored a study on “New Specialist Commercial Courts Changing Dispute Resolution post Brexit?” • Co-authored a study on “The Framework of Judicial Cooperation after Brexit” • Supporting the drafting of grants applications
• Part of an EU-wide research project involving 30+ researchers from across the EU • Drafted the national report for France • Published a working paper based on the national report • Innovative project aiming at creating a computational model of the legal rules on jurisdiction and applicable law for internet-related torts and contracts
• Conducted research on an interdisciplinary project about mutual trust in the EU area of freedom security and justice • Analysed 30 different legislative acts and 80+ cases in EU criminal law, private international law and migration law to find common patterns regarding the principle of mutual trust • Co-authored a substantial article presenting the findings of the project on the Common Market Law Review
