Water Roads Leading venture development for the introduction of hydro foiling metro-style services in Sydney Harbour, creating new sustainable transport markets. Started as an exploration, now developed into a comprehensive venture development project inspired by CAPITAL's lifecycle thinking and commercial framework approach. Current Focus: • Engaging potential investors and stakeholders • Working through government funding and support mechanisms • Assessing charging infrastructure requirements Strategic Value: Creating a commercially viable new urban transport service that contributes to NSW GDP and 2035 zero-emission targets, with export development potential to 50+ global cities. Applying infrastructure expertise in an entrepreneurial context, demonstrating how CAPITAL's performance-based commercial systems can create entirely new markets. ISO 44001, NEC (New Engineering Contract) contracts, and the CAPITAL model are complementary tools for fostering collaborative business relationships. ISO 44001 provides the internationally recognised framework and guidelines for managing such relationships, while NEC contracts and CAPITAL offer specific, built-in mechanisms to facilitate collaboration within a project context. Leading the CBS Strategy + Technology team in translating CAPITAL's award-winning framework into practical infrastructure innovations. CAPITAL (Commercial Asset Performance, Infrastructure Tailoring And Lifecycle) provides the foundation for our breakthrough applications. Carbon Credits in Mobile Assets This project started with a simple question: could rail operations generate carbon credits? It turns out this was more complex than expected because most carbon credit methodologies are designed for fixed, not mobile assets like rolling stock. CAPITAL's emphasis on capturing value from operational data provided the conceptual framework for approaching this challenge. Working with strategic partners, we analysed operational data to see if we could quantify carbon savings from efficiency improvements and turn those into tradeable assets. The breakthrough was figuring out how to apply validated offset measurement to mobile assets - something that hadn't been done before in Rail transport, directly applying CAPITAL's principles of lifecycle value optimisation to a new domain. What we achieved: • How to measure and verify carbon offsets from rolling stock operations • Frameworks to quantify emissions savings from operational improvements • Established pathways for carbon credit verification • The business case for other transport assets It's very satisfying to have found a way to create new multi-million dollar revenue streams from existing operations while also contributing to emissions reduction. COMPASS Platform Development After working on collaborative frameworks, it became clear that people needed better tools to manage collaborative relationships and track performance. That's where COMPASS has come from - it's a digital platform built within Microsoft 365 that helps project teams manage work within strategic alliances. The platform development was directly inspired by CAPITAL's integrated approach to design, construction, and operational phases.
