(2-3 day postion per year) I work over the two busiest days before the awards and on the night. It entails producing table plans, answering the phone, manning the office, and dealing with any problems that arise, including booking cars, cancellations and dealing with agents and their celebrity clients. At the awards itself I show celebrities to their seats, hand out gifts, and organise press meetings. Involves working in a hectic environment, without getting star struck and being professional and presentable at all times.
Working on the flagship venue at Covent Garden. I pro-actively sell the venue and also work on improving packages and event ideas in order to increase turnover. Take charge of weekly events and the marketing of these internally and externally. I look after all of our corporate bookings across the whole business. Seeing them through from enquiry stage, ensuring everything goes as planned on the night and building a relationship with our guests directly. This requires pro-active and re-active selling, working closely with the operations team and being aware of our competitors. I work with other companies when it comes to outsourcing tools and guest requirements for events. I designed a new venue brochure along with other marketing tools. I have also produced 2015’s Christmas product.
Working predominately on sales for Christmas parties at Adventure. Working both re-actively and pro-actively to ensure that we met our targets for sales and footfall over the Christmas period. Used tools such as canvassing, showcases and talking to agents in order to encourage more custom to Adventure. As well as making the sales, my job entailed building corporate relationships, planning each event down to the finest detail, outsourcing what we could not provide and communicating with in store management to ensure that everything went to plan and was successful.
This was a promotion within Bramwell Pub Company from Assistant Manager at the Pembroke in Coulsdon to be given the opportunity to run my own licensed premises. This has involved taking charge of stock control, which has resulted in the best stock audit results that the pub has seen in 5 years. I had three green stocks in a row and a very successful health and safety audit. Putting a new team of staff together and training them to company standards as well as improving sales and marketing within the pub itself. I have taken charge of new menu launches and promotional drink nights, as well as the everyday running of the pub, cash handling, ordering and customer service in order to improve the takings and reputation of the premises. I also was kitchen trained and made sure that health and hygiene standards were met.
I started as a member of bar staff and worked my way up in the first six months to being Assistant Manager. My responsibilities included opening and closing of the premises, dealing with customer requests and any problems that arose, maintaining the cleanliness of the pub and keeping customers happy throughout my shifts. I lead a team of bar and kitchen staff on a daily basis to ensure the pub ran smoothly. I took control of stock, looked after the real ales, ordering and receiving deliveries as well as event planning. I was the pub’s sales coordinator for 2 years. I took charge of all bookings, parties and Christmas functions which included taking payments, planning and overseeing the event on the day. In order to hit pre-booked sales targets I used cold calling and data collection and made sure that I offered the customer everything to suit their requirements.
Before and during the live show I assisted the studio runner and green room host with a variety of tasks including looking after the shows guests, providing tea and coffee for the studio team, making sure that everyone had what they needed for the show to run smoothly, and checking cars were ready for guests. I then assisted the office runner with general duties including collecting packages and sorting post. I also assisted other staff with filing and research for upcoming interviews.
