As a Public Health Professional, it is my goal to help make the world a healthier place. I have a passion for program planning and organizing communities to make them healthier and happier. For nearly five years I have spent my career creating wellness programs in various forms and educating populations. I'm constantly striving to build my outreach and work with larger and larger communities. I obtained my Masters in Public Health from San Jose State University, in August of 2017. My desire to work for a community has grown throughout my MPH program, as it focuses on community organizing. I have over 5 years of experience with health education in a variety of environments and populations as well as program planning. My experience in school has been based on analyzing data and creating program plans based on needs assessments and research and I am eager to utilize these skills. I currently am a Director of Staff Development where I have the opportunity to train over 100 staff in various mental health modalities to not only improve the lives of our patients but to improve self-care of the staff in order to decrease the burn out rate.

In addition to exercise programs I give Healthy Learning Lectures to residents at the community once a month on a different wellness topic. My goal is to educate individuals, at any age, on how to become healthier and improve their overall well being as a part of their body, mind and spirit. I have developed numerous wellness programs that have been successful in increasing physical activity in older adults. My biggest project has been Director of Age of Champions and leading a 14 person committee in running an annual Senior Olympics. Over 90 residents will be competed in 9 different sports.
