-Manage 50+ contractors and employees of the OUSA Recreation Programme, including performance management, pay administration and minor disciplinary processes. -Manage recruitment processes within the programme ensuring compliance with OUSA policy and employment law -Ensuring all staff have appropriate inductions and training as required. -Manage the Activities Department budget -Manage the Recreation Programme in its entirety (200+ activities annually) -Developing strategic partnerships with external recreation providers -Planning and Promotion of facilities and services at OUSA Clubs and Societies Centre -Ensure there is a strong, no harm Health and Safety culture within the Recreation Programme, with safety management plans in place and run in accordance with relevant legislation.
-Manage the support and assistance offered to OUSA affiliated Sports Clubs and Societies -Manage OUSA Sports Clubs and Societies affiliations, re-affiliation and disaffiliation's -Provide training, and development resources to OUSA affiliated Sports Clubs and Societies -Provide advice and support to OUSA affiliated Sports Clubs and Societies -Manage the OUSA Grants System -Identify and assist with external grant opportunities for OUSA affiliated Sports Clubs and Societies -Manage the University of Otago Blues and Golds Awards -Manage the OUSA Clubs Day events -Manage and coordinate teams representing the University of Otago at UTSNZ events, and international events -Collaborate with the student executive and Recreation Manager to amend recreation policy as required -Manage the OUSA Clubs Development budget -Active member on the New Zealand Tertiary Clubs Network
-Coach of 9 girls aged 13-17 -Plan and implement coaching sessions for the crews up to 6 times per week. -Analyse requirements and design and implement training program and sessions aimed at improving confidence and technique in required areas -Crew selection -Accompany girls to weekend regattas and training camps -Act as point of contact for athletes, parents and Teacher in Charge -Encourage and motivate girls both individually and as a team -Injury Management -First Aid Certificate -Coast Guard Boat Safety Operator Course -Otago Rowing Association Coaching Scholar -Rowing NZ Theory of Technique Course -Rowing NZ Rigging Course -Rowing NZ Development Coach Award
