Sarah is an Experienced Media & Digital Industry Leader having held Media leadership positions in major CPG companies (Unilever ANZ, Coca-Cola South Pacific, Diageo Australia) and Media agencies across the last 20 years. Currently the Global Media Director (VP) at Diageo, Sarah is responsible for Media, Retail Media, Social & Creator investment effectiveness and transformation across Diageo’s portfolio of world class brands.
A member of the Unilever ANZ Executive Leadership Team responsible for ensuring our brands are unmissable in a converged digital world.
Dual Role in addition to Head of Media, Digital & Culture. Focused on standing up a Digital Commerce business unit. Designed and implemented Holistic Digital Strategy incl. organisational recommendation. Tripled the DComm business in a year. Launched 2 x D2C sites.
Role expanded to focus on embedding Diageo Brands in Culture through Earned (in addition to Paid & Owned). Leadership of PR Managers and management of PR agencies.
Secondment in addition to HoMDC role to lead Future Media Model across the APAC region. Sitting on the APAC MLT I was responsible in partnership with procurement for designing and implementing best media agency and operations requirements and leading Global Media Agency Review for the APAC region
In this role I was directly accountable for the paid media and digital investment for all 12 brands within the Coca-Cola portfolio across Australia & NZ. I was the senior agency lead and was actively involved in strategic planning and execution of all brand campaigns. I was heavily involved in global processes and best practice. Australia as a lead market has a large amount of local development and I was fortunate enough to be the media & connections lead on a number of award-winning campaigns including Share a Coke, #colouryoursummer and Fanta Playzone My role was expanded in 2015 to include the development of digital as a priority channel. My responsibilities included: innovation, thought leadership, financial and contract management, project leadership, agency management, process leadership, capability building, operational effectiveness, in-house management of paid social/digital media, compliance and audit
In this role I was responsible for efficient investment of media spend, ensuring performance and maximising return on investment. Major focus areas included driving operational efficiencies, inspiring innovation and building capability in digital media. I led relationships with agencies - both Connections Strategy & Media Planning/Buying Agencies and worked directly with brand teams as media and connections lead on all campaigns. A highlight was being involved as media and connections lead on "Share a Coke" the massively successful campaign which has been exported to over 70 markets.
