Bridging creativity and ecology to shape regenerative futures, nurturing people, place and planet. Sarah Ratty (aka Ciel) works at the intersection of regenerative systems and inner resilience. An emerging pioneer of the early circular fashion movement, with a 1990s UK trailblazing sustainable label, Conscious Earthwear, her practice has evolved into an interdisciplinary exploration of how visual culture, biophilic design and ecological awareness shape the way we inhabit complex systems. Her early collaborations included I-D, Vogue, Levi Strauss, Dr. Martens, Selfridges, Sweaty Betty, Liberty’s, Anthropologie and Whistles, alongside advisory contributions to the development of the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS). Her work has been represented internationally on runways in London, Paris, Tokyo and Sydney, from the United Nations International Year of Biodiversity 2011 to exhibition at the Victoria and Albert Museum in 2019. A founder and keynote speaker contributing to international cultural and environmental dialogues, including COP26, Tate Modern (2023) and the AI Personal Growth and Sustainability Future Forum (2024), Sarah explores how creativity drives ecological innovation and how resilience underpins personal growth and sustainable leadership within complex systems. She contributes to interdisciplinary panels examining resilience as both an internal practice and a structural design challenge. Her resilience frameworks are informed by lived experience rebuilding both life and business after significant personal adversity, translating challenge into grounded tools for resilient leadership. Bringing a distinctly female lens to sustainability, she reframes resilience as both structural and embodied, integrating emotional intelligence, cultural participation and environmental responsibility. Through Conscious Lab, she develops and curates immersive, multi-media residencies exploring the Fibonacci spiral through photography, film, stitched works and land art, examining geometry, material and regenerative systems as embodied practice.
