Senior Lecturer and Group Leader at the UK Dementia Research Institute at King's College London working on epigenetic regulation in neurodegenerative diseases. Degrees in mathematics and psychology from the University of Freiburg; PhD in epigenetics from King's College London
My group is interested in epigenetic regulation in neurodegenerative diseases, focussing primarily on Parkinson's and Alzheimer's disease. We combine wet-lab and computational genome-wide approaches to understand regulatory consequences of genetic and environmental risk factors.
Gene-environment interactions in humans and mice; genetic and epigenetic characterisation of ribosomal DNA; nanopore sequencing; epigenetic signatures of paternal obesity
Role of C-reactive protein and DNA methylation in the context of early-life victimisation
ChIP-seq protocol optimisation (for post mortem brain); chromatin prep
