Chartered librarian with a special interest in accessible community-led and collaborative projects. I am the Health and Wellbeing lead, and an Armed Forces Service Champion. I am the archivist for Six Of One, the appreciation society for the 1960s TV series the Prisoner, and in addition I also help project plan and deliver our annual convention in Portmeirion, North Wales. I am an internationally published poet and performer. I co-edited the community created anthology 'Inspired by Six Women who shook the World', and I'm now working on my second solo poetry collection.
SM Jenkin has been published in numerous anthologies and magazines including Anti-Heroin Chic, Blithe Spirit, Bloody Amazing, Boyne Berries, City Without a Head, Confluence, Dissonance, The Interpreter's House, the Mermaid and Please Hear What I Am Not Saying. She has published one book of poetry, co-written a poetry pamphlet, and co-edited a community created book. She is working on her next solo poetry collection.
Chairperson and project lead for the 2014 Medway St Patrick's day parade: a series of events celebrating Irish language, music and culture culminating in a St Patrick's day parade through Gillingham Town centre.
