I am a senior member of the privacy, data and cyber-security team at DLA Piper. I'm originally from the UK but have been based in Australia since 2011. I regularly advise clients on the application of Australian privacy laws in a wide range of scenarios, from start-ups and overseas entities looking to establish operations in Australia, to providing detailed advice on specific processing activities and complex data storage and transfer arrangements, as well as assisting clients to manage privacy related risks via contractual terms. I also assist clients with the management of cyber incidents and other data breaches, including providing advice on the notifiable data breach regime, as well as compliance with broader cyber security related obligations. I am part of an awesome global data protection team at DLA Piper and regularly work with colleagues to design and implement multi-jurisdictional compliance regimes for our clients.
