I'm a passionate geoscientist with 10+ years of experience in oil & gas exploration, currently serving as Assistant Exploration Manager at Trident Petroleum and Deputy Exploration Manager at Magawish Petroleum. I’m proud to be the youngest ever to hold such titles in Egypt's Oil & Gas Sector. I'm also one of the first Well Site Geologist Women working in rig sites in Egypt, a role I earned through performance, and my deep love for geology that started in my early years at University, where I graduated top of my class. I’m self-taught in key G&G software, where I've led different exploration projects in Egypt and worldwide, from seismic interpretation to well delivery, built data inventories from scratch, and caught costly drilling mistakes in time. I take initiative far beyond my job scope. I’ve also won top rankings in international industry competitions (GAEA Challenge, SEG EVOLVE, EAGE Laurie Dake Challenge, IBA), mentored the next generation of geoscientists, and inspired young women to pursue STEM fields. Beyond oil field, I’m a mentor, speaker, and TechWomen 2022 alumna, very passionate about science communication and empowering other women in geoscience especially in male-dominated environments like rig sites. A documentary film portraying my journey was screened and awarded First Place at the 8𝐭𝐡 𝐀𝐬𝐰𝐚𝐧 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐖𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧 𝐅𝐢𝐥𝐦 𝐅𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐚𝐥. I love my job ! I always show up with the same energy: to solve problems, inspire others, and make a lasting impact in geoscience.
• Manage exploration activities & ensure completion of technical work within timelines. • Contribute to the training and assign job responsibilities to junior geologists. • Help prepare contracts and annual exploration program budgets. • Provide input to strategic decisions and direct reporting to top management. • Coordinate with other departments and the other operator company. • Report to top management and provide feedback.
• Perform full geological & geophysical studies in our concession to explore & evaluate where to drill the next well starting from data preparation till the hydrocarbon production. • Evaluate and prioritize new exploration block opportunities in Egypt. • Perform formation evaluation of wells at the end of a drilling phase, recommend perforation intervals, and prepare well targets recommendation reports. • Generate and update all relevant maps. • Build the company’s data inventory.
• Describe rock cuttings circulated out of the well & identify the formation tops. • Make real-time decisions about suspending or continuing drilling, or pick casing, core points, and TD determination. • Compare drilling actual data with proposals made at the exploration stage. • Identify & observe drilling hazards (losses, gains, gases, shale savings, etc.) • Prepare daily reports, updated mud log, & final well reports as well. • Supervise geological operations contractors, witness their operations, and revise their services invoices.
