PhD researcher on forest ecology and conservation biology with a focus on biodiversity and trophic interactions in forest ecosystems. My work integrates multi-taxa approaches, studying beetles, spiders, and birds to understand seasonal dynamics and ecosystem functioning through DNA metabarcoding and passive acoustic monitoring approaches.
RTG 2300 EnriCo: Enrichment of European Beech forests with Conifers - impacts of functional traits on ecosystem functioning. “Winter and overwintering dynamics of arthropods and birds in mixed versus pure stands” Community composition, functional diversity, phylogenetic diversity, and tropic niche structure of multiple taxa in pure and mixed stands of European beech, Norways spruce and Douglas fir.
Plant Ecology & Nature Conservation Group (PEN) - Thesis project: "Enhancing Pollination Services of Solar Parks: Potential Ecological and Economic Impacts on Surrounding Agricultural Landscape in The Netherlands" - EcoCertified Project: Assessing how pollinator biodiversity and pollination + pest control ecosystem services can be improved in solar parks and how this can affect surrounding agricultural fields.
