Sara Haque (they/them) is a queer Muslim poet from the riverside town of Goalpara, Assam. Their work centres around queerness, faith, memory, language and geo-political marginalizations, via poetry, photography, and other artistic mediums. Sara has been a spoken word artist since 2017, a 2024 fellow of "The Queer Writers' Room" and "Language Is A Queer Thing" by The Queer Muslim Project, and a 2025 fellow of Aranyer Residency. Their work has been featured in "Riverside Stories", a feminist anthology from Assam by Zubaan books, "Somewhere There's A Sky For Us", a poetry anthology by Verve Press and The British Council, and "InPlainspeak", an online journal on gender and sexuality by TARSHI, amongst others. They've performed at the 2024 Tata Lit Live Mumbai, and The Kolkata Literary Meet 2025 as part of TQMP's cohort. Their most recent work is a part of “On The Brink of Belief”, a first of its kind anthology featuring 24 LGBTQ writers across South Asia, edited by Kazim Ali. In 2025, they participated as an upcoming queer poet in Sahitya Academy's Annual Literary Festival, Unmesha.
