I am a multidisciplinary professional with 8 years of experience working in international, philanthropic, and government contexts in Latin America and with global teams from around the globe, focusing on strategic partnerships, program development, advocacy, government affairs, and fundraising. During all my career, I have been able to change the lives of people in need by expanding international programs and organizations, cultivating relationships with a diverse portfolio of stakeholders, mobilizing policies for systemic change, raising funds for philantropic missions, and managing projects to vulnerable communities. Given my multicultural experience advising and supporting teams from different countries, I am a very proactive, problem-solving, and ethical person with a high capacity to lead and communicate within different cross-cultural teams.
National Coordinator of the Anti-Trafficking in Persons program of the Colombian Red Cross, jointly the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime. • Team Leadership and Strategy: Lead and coordinate all the work of the national team, territorial offices, and Red Cross volunteers in assisting victims of human trafficking. Establish the national strategy to reduce human trafficking and mentor teams. • Stakeholder Management: Serve as the main liaison between the Red Cross, UNODC, and the Colombian Government to articulate coordinated actions. Prepare reports, document lessons learned, address implementation risks, and more. • Financial & Budget Management: Manage the program budget in accordance to the United Nations’ requests and procedures. Review and approve financial reports, take budget decisions to reduce financial risks, document financial supports, and more. • Operations Coordination: Direct and oversee all Red Cross’ operations in providing humanitarian assistance to victims of TIP. Prepare teams, provide useful tools, and follow-up operations. • MEL: Responsible for all program KPIs and preparing MEL reports to the United Nations. Oversee the MEL officer in documenting KPI progress, implementation risks, lessons learned, and other documentation required from the UN.
Provided advisory in business development, organizational positioning, strategic relationships, and networking to a UN Women-awarded NGO that protects rights of women victims and/or in danger of facing femicides. • Developed a business development strategy for national expansion focusing on individual/corporate fundraising and international cooperation grants. • Created a rights-based protection program for 2035 (concept note, logical framework, program results, strategies, KPIs, organizational structure, budgeting, stakeholder mapping). Promoted an organizational transformation. • Established relationships with key civil society stakeholders.
I was in charge of leading and implementing the partnership-building, government engagement, advocacy strategies, and survivor empowerment work for IJM's South America program (Colombia, Peru, Bolivia), while contributing/supporting global teams, senior leadership, and country teams in public and private fundraising, marketing, communications, and grants seeking. Main Highlights: • Escalated program's interventions in Peru thanks to an effective engagement with the Government. • Coordinated an advocacy & dissemination campaign that mobilized policy changes for women and children protection in Bolivia. • Key contributor in securing a 100,000+ USD gift from a major donor jointly with global teams. • Contributed to global and regional advocacy efforts within the U.N. and IACHR. • Contributed to the design of regional Latin America program strategies regarding advocacy, relationship-building and grant seeking.
I was in charge of leading the policy and legislative agenda, relationship management, advocacy, and community engagement work of a lawmaker, including policy design/mobilization, campaign coordination, stakeholder and decision-maker engagement, technical persuasion/negotiation, and communications. Main Highlights: • Advocated, negotiated, and got the approval from government decision-makers for human rights, economic growth, development, and gender policy initiatives, among other policy issues. • I designed and contributed to relevant policy changes for national issues, including social policy, climate change, migration, displacement, peace, governance, public finances, among others.
Part of a policy research team for the Colombian Ministry of Health in the elaboration of the National Public Health Plan 2022-2031. Responsible of developing tools and policy implementation strategies that resulted in more impactful health projects in Colombia.
