The Summer in the Lab internship program aims at creating a bridge between education and research by offering 2nd or 3rd year EPFL Bachelor’s students a summer internship that will sharpen their focus and allow them to immerse themselves in real research. I worked in the Neuroscience and Topology Laboratory under the supervision of Professor Scherer. I studied cohomology theories for partial groups, generalizing classical group cohomology to a broader algebraic framework. My work develops both algebraic and simplicial-set approaches and demonstrates their equivalence, enabling computations of extensions and deeper structural insights.
