The team scouted, assessed, and onboarded critical suppliers and contract manufacturers. Optimized global hardware supply chain for risk, cost, quality, and time-to-market. Drove supplier contract negotiations (JDAs, ESAs, MSAs) in close collaboration with legal and executive leadership, ensuring favorable terms and strategic alignment.
Led the Application team to develop and validate use cases for consumer spectroscopy (e.g., measuring moisture and lipids in human skin). Directed the Supply Chain team in building an ecosystem of electronic and optical component partners to integrate NIR detectors into smartphone-ready modules. Oversaw sourcing, procurement, and supply chain functions to ensure seamless integration and scalability.
Led development teams in Ludwigshafen, Basel and Japan for Display Materials in OLED and LCD technologies. Managed a multidisciplinary group of chemists, physicists, display engineers, and lab technicians. Directed development of raw materials, formulations, and optical components for advanced display applications.
Joined the development team responsible for color filters, quantum dots, photoinitiators, display resins, light stabilizers, etc.
Identified new business opportunities and technologies for BASF through collaborations with external start-ups in electronic materials. Negotiated joint development and licensing agreements with companies in the EU, UK, and US. Partnered with BASF Venture Capital on business plan analysis and contributed to due diligence for a US start-up investment. Drove investment and M&A decisions within a matrix organization and served as key account for start-ups post-investment.
