Inspect and repair complex avionics systems to component level on bench and troubleshoot and isolate problems in aircraft using test equipment. Perform FAA mandated safety inspections and RVSM certifications on a variety or aircraft and helicopters.
Duties include: The installation, inspection, testing, adjusting and repairing of varies avionics equipment, Including; radar, radio, and navigation systems for various models of Airplanes and Helicopters. The interpretation of flight test data to troubleshoot and diagnose malfunctions and performance issues. Set up and operate ground support and test equipment to perform functional flight tests of electrical and electronic systems. Test and troubleshoot aircraft instruments, components and assemblies using; Circuit Testers, Oscilloscopes and Voltmeters. Perform bench checks and component-level repair using schematics and precision soldering techniques. Assemble switches, electrical controls and junction boxes using wiring diagrams, hand tools and soldering irons. Calibrate/adjust electronic equipment and instruments to specification. Perform safety inspections to comply with laws, regulations and standards. Coordinate work with customers, engineers, and other maintenance personnel. Monitor inventory supplies and parts, and place orders for specialized parts and system components. Document all maintenance and repair actions in required written and electronic format.
