Impact-driven ex-founder product engineer searching for novel ways to implement LLM agents. Currently a big fan of good AI observability tools, strong evaluation systems, and Paraxanthine (https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC9932512/). Some of what I've done before: ⢠Built medical app simplifying a behavioral therapy, tested with users with demonstrable results. Also built an ADHD treatment app for a client (still in early testing) ⢠Raised funding, incorporated company, hired contractors, launched public beta, managed small team of engineers ⢠Years of working with clients on custom solutions, in Flutter, React Native, Shopify, and other stacks. Entire pipeline from sales to negotiation and launch/handoff ⢠Founded community groups centered on Effective Altruism, neurotech, and self-directed learning
Leading a team developing red-teaming evaluation infrastructure that can handle any type of AI system.
Worked to make Weave the default LLM tracing and evals tool in San Francisco. Events, building AI products, replicating research. Grew Luma audience from ~100 to ~9,000.
Led development of an AI health coach for menopausal women - providing quality care to an underserved population. Focused on long-term relationship building & providing evidence-backed, actionable guidance. ⢠Started with 2-week proof of concept that got expanded into a full product with thousands of users ⢠Built on OpenAI APIs, using Postgres db, FastAPI/Railway, and LangChain ⢠Brought cost per message & response time down more than 10x ⢠Added a queueing system for managing rate limits, data collection, automated evals via LangSmith, prompt injection protection ⢠Created an internal conversation & analytics dashboard ⢠Deployed on SMS via Twilio & Facebook Messenger ⢠Led a small team to further expand the product ⢠Added functionality to React Native app
Dozy (previously Slumber) is an app that provides drug-free insomnia care on your phone. We made this happen with an empirically proven therapy that takes most people from moderate insomnia to no insomnia in 4-8 weeks. It's effective - on average, users fall asleep 13 minutes faster and improve their sleep efficiency by 7.5 percentage points. We'd raised a small round, iterated through multiple rounds of closed testing, and helped many people fix their insomnia. Day to day involved: ⢠Product (talking w/users, designing UX/UI, analytics, strategy), ⢠Software engineering (leading my 3 person dev team re: TypeScript & React Native, reviewing code, project management), ⢠Executive & administration (fundraising, recruiting, operations), and ⢠Research (digging thru papers, treatment design).
Ran projects start to finish with a variety of clients. Designed mockups, handled development, managed maintenance, and did billing. Worked primarily with JavaScript, TypeScript, React, React Native, and Flutter. ⢠Improved one company's core feature engagement 4x within two months ⢠Designed & built Flutter app for a neurotech company within 3 weeks, for clinical trials ⢠Built an AI tarot card reading app powered by AI for another co's demo day ⢠Built and modified 10+ Shopify sites and 40+ WordPress sites
