Primary Scope: HAZOP Support • Assist process engineers in preparing HAZOP documentation, including: • Process flow diagrams (PFDs) • Piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs) • Process descriptions and operating procedures • Participate in HAZOP review sessions with multidisciplinary teams. • Record and organize HAZOP meeting minutes, actions and recommendations. • Assist in tracking and updating HAZOP action items and closure statuses. Secondary Scope: Process Engineering Tasks • Support process engineers in: • Mass and energy balances for unit operations. • Updating or creating process documentation (e.g., data sheets, line lists). • Assisting with troubleshooting operational issues or performance analysis. • Conduct data collection and basic analysis using DeltaV data, Aspen process explorer data or lab data.
Investigated and optimized high-phosphorus electroless nickel coatings for diamond-turnable optical components. Designed a prototype system for continuous EN deposition and integrated online sensors for real-time monitoring of pH, ion concentration and bath stability for bath health tracking. Conducted literature review and experimental planning for bath regeneration methods, including selective precipitation and automatic dosing control. Assisted in laboratory setup and performed chemical handling, solution preparation, and catalytic bath characterization.
Taught 5 tuition classes for primary and secondary school students in Mathematics, Science and Chinese. Assessed each student's strengths and weaknesses, and tailored lesson plans to suit students' learning styles in class sizes of 3-6 students.
Led a team of 10 international translators to translate Chinese novels and comics into English and publish online. Interpreted difficult translations, often including idioms, slangs, dialects and culture specific expressions. • Persuaded the company to take on new Chinese fiction series and resulted in a success as the viewership increased tenfold within two months.
