About

Undergraduate researcher and student at The Ohio State University. Leading a research project on ultrasound induced pore formation in harmful algal bloom species with Dr. Linda Weavers. Pursuing field work with Dr. Yanlan Liu quantifying microbial greenhouse gas emissions from Ohio agricultural critical zones based on drainage condition. Past work in the Indoor Environmental Quality laboratory examined microbial deposition on materials in the International Space Station and the effect of elevated carbon dioxide levels on microbial growth in dust.

Ultrasonication of Harmful Algal Blooms (HABs) Research • Led and designed an independent research project studying ultrasonic pore formation in algal cells at a bench scale. Developed new procedures to address further research questions. • Performed over 900 hours of lab work over 3 years, earning two research fellowships • Met weekly and presented research updates and literature summaries. • Aided development of field scale method to sample sound pressure and frequency of ultrasonic transducers in drinking water reservoirs for algal control. • Performed field work sampling water quality characteristics and sound pressures in drinking water reservoirs from a boat. • Feeding and culturing two strains of algae for use in experiments for more than a year. • Measured sound pressures in flat plate transducers to relate bench scale work to medical literature and field work.
