With a strong interest in commercial law and a passion for understanding the intersection of business and legal frameworks. My goal is to complete my undergraduate degree, pursue a graduate LLB, and ultimately qualify as a solicitor through the Diploma in Professional Legal Practice (DPLP). Throughout my academic and professional journey, I have developed a diverse skill set through customer service, leadership, and corporate experience. I have worked in fast-paced, high-pressure environments, including McDonald's, Rangers Football Club, and Glasgow City Council, where I honed my abilities in problem-solving, communication, teamwork, and adaptability. Professional Experience: Glasgow City Council (PR Assistant): Gained insight into public relations and government operations, assisting in event coordination, administrative tasks, and communications. Rangers Football Club (Stock & Customer Service): Managed inventory control, ensured efficient stock distribution, and led a team in a high-demand stadium environment. McDonald's (Crew Member & Mentor): Delivered excellent customer service, managed transactions, trained new employees, and worked efficiently under pressure. With a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a commitment to excellence, I am eager to apply my experience and skills in a legal or corporate setting. I am particularly interested in commercial and corporate law, where I can combine my legal knowledge with my business acumen to help businesses navigate complex challenges.
During my time working at McDonald's, I gained hands-on experience in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment, where I developed strong teamwork, problem-solving, and communication skills. My role involved handling customer orders efficiently, managing cash transactions with accuracy, and ensuring food quality and safety standards were met. Working in a high-pressure setting, I learned to multitask effectively, balancing responsibilities such as preparing food, serving customers, and maintaining cleanliness. I frequently worked during peak hours, which required me to stay calm under pressure, adapt quickly to changing demands, and ensure that service remained smooth and efficient.
As a stockroom manager, I was responsible for ensuring that kiosks were adequately supplied with food, beverages, and merchandise throughout matchdays and large-scale events. This role required strong organizational skills, as I had to track inventory levels, anticipate demand, and coordinate with kiosk staff to prevent shortages during peak service times. I regularly restocked kiosks under strict time constraints, ensuring efficient workflow and minimal disruption to customer service.
During my time as an assistant in PR at Glasgow City Council’s City Chambers, I was responsible for assisting in organizing public relations activities and communications within the City Chambers. I helped coordinate events, meetings, and official engagements for council representatives while managing administrative tasks such as scheduling, document handling, and internal communications. Additionally, I contributed to social media and press-related activities to enhance public engagement and assisted in drafting or proofreading reports, press releases, and official statements. This role also provided me with the opportunity to observe and learn about the structure of local government and public administration.
