As the Technology & Events Officer, I manage the AV hardware and IT systems for The Cube, ensuring it meets the daily requirements of busy visitor and education programs which includes interaction and support of stakeholders using The Cube for events and assisting with operation of other areas of QUT. I provide advice and support to operations and projects, and actively seek new tools, techniques and methods to build capability and deliver outcomes to support QUT goals. I develop and maintain an understanding of stakeholders’ needs and requirements, and the implications of implementing new and innovative operational and technical approaches. My responsibilities include connecting and collaborating with other teams and stakeholders external and internal, on joint technical projects and in relation to event support. I exhibit agility in applying technical solutions to daily operations and am open to change in applying new and emerging technologies. I Support events in The Cube, facilitating the booking and approval process, content display and liaising with Event Managers, assisting in the development and implementation of tools and processes to facilitate content display and stakeholder engagement when using The Cube for events and activities. Additionally I manage AV hardware and IT system maintenance, calibration, service/replacement for The Cube. Record and report information about technical and event operations and costs to assist the Studio Manager with planning, budgets and higher level reporting. Contribute to the operations and configuration documentation for The Cube Studio. Further I provide technical and event support with the QUT Precincts technical team across all Precincts venues and activities, while participating and contributing to communications, business development, tour activities, health and safety policies, procedures, hazard reporting and work practices. My special after hours hobby is remote monitoring and support of The Cube.
