What I did: 1. Served customers quickly and politely in a high footfall, fast-paced environment 2. Took orders accurately and handled both cash and card payments responsibly 3. Sold confectionery in line with all relevant hygiene and food handling standards 4. Worked as part of a team to manage customer queues and minimise wait times This was a temporary role, lasting as a work experience placement attained of my own volition outside of the mandatory work experience in yr 10. From this experience, I gained an entry-level understanding of fast-paced retail, emphasising efficiency and teamwork with my colleagues. I also improved my communication skills, having taken the iniative to offer deals and small-scale bargains towards the customers. Whilst actively listening and being observant as to my colleagues. So that I could ensure that the work was as efficient as possible.

  • Office Administrative Assistant at Spring & Co Solicitors Ltd

    1. Organised and handled confidential documents with precision and discretion 2. Scanned, sorted and filed paperwork efficiently in line with office procedures 3. Demonstrated a professional standard of conduct, punctuality and presentation throughout 4. Supported colleagues in a professional legal environment, showing initiative and reliability From this experience, i've understood the surface-level of solicitors at work from: negotiating as well as advising clientele on subsequent legal steps. Furthermore, I've gained a wider exposure to work within an office environment, which has helped me to identify my own personal reservations towards working within a white-collar, office job following 6th form. All in all, the team that I had worked with were extremely helpful, and from having mustered the courage to ask specific questions towards the working solicitors, i've also attained a comprehensive understanding of the reality as a domestic solicitor, working within predictable and foreseeable hours.
