Muurame, Central Finland, Finland
I aim into duties where I can utilize experience in research, programming, numerical algorithms or (GRID) computing. I am also interested in teaching, especially at the University level. I am pedagogically qualified teacher and fluent speaker both in Finnish and English. I have substantial experience in working in multi-cultural environment both in Finland and abroad. I perform well and understandably in public presentations and write clearly also on complex topics.
I work on the ALICE experiment at CERN’s Large Hadron Collider, which explores the physics of quark-gluon plasma (QGP), a state of the matter that existed in the early Universe. I lead Finland’s involvement in ALICE and represent the country on its Collaboration Board. My research focuses on particle correlations and jet physics. I also supervise theses at all academic levels. I am interested in opportunities to utilize detector technologies developed at CERN in medical applications. In teaching, I help develop physics education and student labs. I teach Experimental Methods in Particle Physics and Bachelor level labs, and support student wellbeing.
ALICE experiment at CERN Large Hadron Collider (LHC) is specialized to relativistic heavy ion physics. I am a project leader in Helsinki Institute of Physics (HIP) and I coordinate Finnish participation to ALICE. I represent Finland at the ALICE Collaboration Board. My own research interests are mostly related with two-particle correlations and jet physics. I supervise Bachelor's, Master's and PhD -thesis works on topics related to my research. I participate actively to teaching development at the department of Physics. Currently we are working on development of the student laboratory. I teach Experimental Methods in Particle Physics and I am a student wellbeing adviser for both Finnish and international students.
Particle Physics research as a member of ALICE experiment at the CERN Large Hadron Collider (LHC). Mostly research and teaching at University of Jyväskylä, but also working on site at CERN. Research work includes programming (C/C++ and fortran), computing, simulations, mathematical modeling and very large scale grid computing. Teaching involves mainly particle physics and mathematical methods of physics, supervising thesis works from Bachelor of Science up to Doctor of Philosophy. I am also a wellbeing adviser for students at the Department of Physics.
Teaching mathematics both in English and in Finnish for junior and adult groups.
Research work aiming to PhD and teaching. Mainly programming, computer simulations, advanced studies in physics.
