I’m a dedicated policy strategist currently serving as the Director of Policy for the National Office at the Directors Guild of Canada, where I lead our initiatives on public policy, regulatory affairs, and government relations to champion the interests of over forty job categories within the Canada’s screen community. Drawing on extensive experience in advocacy and cultural strategy, I have successfully built coalitions with key stakeholders and influenced policy developments that strengthen the screen industry’s competitive edge. Looking to the future, I’m focused on advancing innovative policy frameworks, deepening stakeholder engagement, and driving transformative change in the media and entertainment landscape. I’m passionate about leveraging my expertise to empower creative professionals, foster industry growth, and navigate the evolving regulatory environment where AI meets sustainability.
As Director of Policy, I lead the DGC’s strategic policy and advocacy work at the national level. I represent the interests of over 8,000 directors, assistant directors, and professionals in film and TV by shaping Canada’s cultural policy, contributing to regulatory reform (implementation of Bill C-11 The Online Streaming Act), and building strong relationships with government, industry stakeholders, and regulators. • Lead national policy initiatives and brief senior leadership on legislative and regulatory developments. • Develop and execute advocacy strategies, submissions, and position papers to advance member interests. • Represent the Guild before the CRTC, Heritage Canada, and other federal departments. • Collaborate with peer stakeholders in Canada and abroad on policy projects related to labour relations, artificial intelligence, and Copyright. • Spearhead engagement strategies for emerging issues such as AI, streaming regulation, and environmental sustainability.

Administration of a $360k funding program for digital media startups. Helped startups in growth phase to find capital: defined guidelines and selected companies for a program in partnership with the BDC. Researched industry and markets trends with a focus on new forms investments in the creative industries (equity crowdfunding policies in Canada and Europe).
