• Worked with a team to develop product platforms for a company seeking to expand role in meat snacks market; Conducted market research on relevant market in order to develop platforms that fill a gap in a niche marketplace • Wrote strategic brand and product descriptions in order to align brand identity with new product concepts • Created an extensive power point presentation on new product platforms, brand identities, and meat snack market that included interactive charts, graphs and mood boards
• Worked towards the designation of the Calumet region (of South Chicago and Northwest Indiana) as a National Heritage Area; collaborated with local groups, artists, and educators to gather information for a Feasibility Study • Undertook ethnographic interview-based research concerning the heritage and assets of the Calumet Region; focused on the relationship between art and heritage in the region • Created literature and resources for the project including an interactive ArcGIS Story Map highlighting regional assets • Assumed administrative duties including generating materials for events, maintaining contact lists through excel and Constant Contact, and constructing websites and forms for the Calumet Heritage Partnership)
• Transcribed English and French language interviews between cheese makers, affineurs, and distributors • Contributed to Dr. Shields’ anthropological research on Comté cheese, taste, and terroir in the Jura region; this research highlights discourse as a means to understanding relationships between food and identity, and promotes cross-national comparison of foodways • Developed a framework for understanding complex social phenomena through a culinary lens that would later be implemented throughout personal research
