Collects water and related samples across San Diego Zoo grounds for laboratory analysis. Prepare and standardize reagents used in analysis work. Maintain laboratory in a clean and orderly condition while properly cleaning glassware and equipment. Clean and Sterilize laboratory equipment. Maintain and disseminate data from laboratory analysis. Perform data entry. Maintain daily sampling logs and inventory of the laboratory. Perform routine physical, chemical, and biological tests in accordance with specified procedures. Assist in ordering chemicals and supplies and devising experiments to investigate water quality problems. Follow prescribed laboratory safety regulations. Liaison with Wildlife Care Staff and Life Support Operators to ensure healthy aquatic habitats. Other duties as assigned.
