A unicorn Series C healthcare tech startup focused on accelerating the transition to value based care by providing care teams with recommended actions and real time incentive payments. As Chief Compliance Officer, I am responsible for compliance, privacy, information technology, and information security teams comprised of 10 professionals. Created annual work and audit plans based on the findings to appropriately mitigate risk. - Established contract management processes and collaborated with outside counsel to review all customer and vendor contracts. During this role, I executed ethics office projects to operationalize program and drive a culture of ethics and integrity by preventing retaliation and promoting a speak-up culture, implementing an effective communications and training program, and serving as a subject matter expert. Some key accomplishments include: - Supported management of internal reporting tools and worked an investigation caseload of 3-4 significant cases/month, identifying and mitigated issues as soon as possible to minimize impact. - Led projects to benchmark, update, and redesign the Code of Business Ethics and Supplier Code of Conduct to address emerging risks, simplify language, and improve navigation and mobile accessibility. - Drove revision of annual Code of Business Ethics training to a “choose your own destiny” format, reducing time spent on training by 65% on average, thereby freeing most employees to attend to normal business while simultaneously ensuring high-risk employees receive critical training. - Implemented a comprehensive multi-year communication plan to raise awareness and educate workers on key topics using innovative and engaging methods and content.
