Worked as a Liaison Engineer (was the team Lead last 2 years) defining requirements and utilizing systems engineering to define and develop future Product Lifecycle Management and Manufacturing Operations Management tools, from architecture to requirements and configuration definition for system development. Collaborated across organizations/functions and business units to define Enterprise level future system requirements and processes
- Work in the non-delegated Supplier Liaison Engineering (SLE) group analyzing and dispositioning nonconformances on supplier parts that occur during the production and use of these parts, which includes navigating through part drawings and 3D models, performing appropriate engineering analyses, coordinating as required with various engineering groups, and providing a disposition on the nonconforming parts that ensures the integrity and safety of the airplane and those on board - Participated in a 9 month Material Review Board (MRB) rotation program, taking several required training courses and rotating through 9 different Liaison groups, from Factory to Flightline and ending in Supplier, during which time worked with a mentor and dispositioned various nonconformance records on a variety of emergent problems that arose during airplane production through engineering analysis of the issues and appropriate coordination with other engineering groups as well as shop and the mechanics - Collaborated with two other team members in the 777 Wing Body Join/Final Body Join (WBJ/FBJ) group on an expanded Capturing the Value of Quality (CVQ) project that included working with Quality, Manufacturing Engineering (ME), and appropriate shop mechanics, and, based on the information gathered, submitted proposed revisions to ME for all the sealing IPs completed in the WBJ control code - Developed and published a standard Integration Visualization Tool (IVT) tip sheet for Liaison Engineering use covering the 737/747/767/777/787 programs that provides various step by step examples for searching, loading, and navigating airplane geometry - Lead a team of two other Supplier Liaison Engineering members in developing and publishing a New Hire Package for the non-delegated SLE group in order to help facilitate the arrival and integration of a new hire into the group.
- Two year invite only program where one is required to work 10 hours per week and choose two of the four areas of RISE, one to be completed during the first year and the second during the second year - Attended a one hour seminar every week during the spring semester of each year - Performed research during first year on fuel air mixing in vortices, including designing a vortex generator, conducting high speed schlieren visualization testing and collecting data, and analyzing the data using image processing
- Assisted graduate students during testing of various projects, including supersonic combustor testing and actively controlled augmenter testing using chemiluminescence and schlieren visualization - Supervised two new summer interns in the laboratory through providing tasks and guidance - Worked on small tasks needed to be done in the lab, including fixing a switch box - Designed and tested a vortex generator to produce consistent vortices to study fuel air mixing, varying several parameters, including orifice size, applied voltage/speed, and stroke length - Assembled a detonation database based on various fuels, oxidizers, and diluents - Compiled a database of AIAA publications regarding hypersonic propulsion
