Post Anaesthetic Care Unit
• Coordinating the distribution of clinical support for all sites, leadership of the skin and wound committee and hospital-wide prevalence studies • Clinical support to staff addressing complex wounds and ostomy care, ongoing development of the clinical and professional practice of staff at all sites • Assessment of patient/family knowledge of skin, wound care or ostomy needs and implement care plan as a collaborative team approach.
• Orientation of new staff to organization and patient care unit • Education support and bedside mentorship of staff with all clinical skills including telemetry • Implementation of quality initiatives such as the daily huddle in partnership with patient care manager • Policy/procedure/medical directive development within best practice guidelines • Recipient Nurse of the Year award, voted by peers
• Orientation of new staff to organization and critical care using to adult learning principles • Education and bedside mentorship of staff with all clinical skills • Assisting staff with patient and family education • Policy and procedure development in accordance with best practice guidelines
