As part of the bartender at one of Brisbane’s most popular bars, I work actively to succeed in weekend events, functions and cocktail making. I passionately promote drink specials and sponsors to drive sales and engagement because my role requires a level of adaptability and understanding of both service and marketing. I work with a diverse multicultural team from countries all over the world and seek to be outgoing and curious.
As part of the bar team at the university bar, I worked in another fast-paced environment catering predominantly towards a younger student audience. My responsibilities included promoting drinks and deals. gained experience serving both casual shifts and high energy club nights.
As a 2IC bartender, I not only served drinks and engaged with customers, but also assumed management responsibilities. I supervised younger colleagues behind the bar, as well as coordinating food service on the floor. I managed inventory by handling orders for the venue. I oversaw all alcohol management for customers, ensuring compliance with regulations. This role strengthened my leadership and organizational skills.
During my time as a waiter, I learned to multitask effectively and improve my communication skills by working hard as part of a close team. This experience taught me the value of teamwork, attention to detail, and adaptability in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
