As Head of Training and Development at MCFT, I lead the strategic direction and operational delivery of learning and development pathways across the UK, whilst providing support for our other global territories. I oversee all aspects of technical, leadership, and compliance training—ensuring programmes are aligned to business goals, regulatory frameworks, and local capability needs. Key responsibilities and achievements include: Leading the design and implementation of MCFT’s UK L&D strategy, including workforce modelling, succession planning, and skills forecasting across engineering, administration and leadership roles. Strategic Oversight of the MCFT Technical Academy, managing a growing training team delivering accredited technical programmes and leadership development, including City & Guilds and LCL qualifications. Overseeing our Employer Provider Status—achieving Ofsted ‘Good’, 0% ESFA audit errors, and expanding delivery across multiple regions. Directing the use of digital and blended learning, incorporating immersive technologies and scalable learning solutions to impact employee development in the field and office. Leading compliance with DfE, Ofsted, and awarding body requirements; ensuring robust quality assurance, IQA, OTLA and continuous improvement processes. Supporting international expansion by aligning training frameworks and development standards with business needs in the Middle East and Europe. Representing MCFT in IFATE standard reviews and national apprenticeship forums, advocating for the needs of employer providers and SMEs.

Responsible for governance, quality, funding, and delivery standards. 🔹 Coaching & Senior Leader Development – Providing high-impact coaching and strategic development support to managers and senior leaders, with a focus on driving performance, culture, and retention. 🔹 Learning Systems & Data Insights – Overseeing our LMS and reporting systems to ensure smart, data-led L&D decisions and continuous improvement. 🔹 Pathway Development – Designing and managing graduate, apprentice, and school-leaver pathways to future-proof talent and support business growth. 🔹 Industry Representation – Contributing to national discussions as a member of the IFATE Standards Review and 5% Club SME Special Interest Group.
