About

For the past 4 years, I have been completing a higher-level apprenticeship with Barclays Bank; employed full-time and undertaking in part-time studying at Manchester Metropolitan University. During this period, I have been working within the cybersecurity department, specifically the penetration testing team. My role was to drive, manage and coordinate the annual security assessments executed against the bank’s most critical technology, applications and infrastructure. The execution of these projects involved interacting with and leading numerous teams simultaneously, requiring excellent stakeholder management and leadership qualities, as well as the ability to proactively calculate risk and resolve issues. My keen appetite to learn, either from others or through self-study, enabled me to successfully graduate from university with a 1st class Bsc Honours Degree in Business & Technology Solutions, where I studied to understand the relationship between business and its growing reliance on technology. My experience in juggling work and study simultaneously demonstrates my hard-work, motivation and commitment to completing my tasks and responsibilities to the highest standard. Additionally, my time management capability was strengthened, as I had to balance both work and university deadlines, in addition to enhancing my attention to detail; proven by my academic results. Prior to this, I worked at Chime bar & restaurant for 2 years as a Front of House Waiter whilst studying for my A-levels at college. I thrived off the social interaction, delivering a high quality, enjoyable experience for the guests. This was acknowledged in 2017 when I won the award for Best Front of House staff. I’m also a keen sportsman, competing in football and long-distance running from an early age as well as enjoying the high adrenaline style sports such as wakeboarding and mountain-biking. Additionally, I am a qualified Football Association Referee and referee 7, 9 and 11 a-side football matches.
