Embraced the role of Managing Director in my family's business. Retail and Commercial Curtains, Blinds, Shutters and Soft Furnishings, mobile service to the home or office. Lots of fun with a lot people and moving parts..... Office/Showroom, Sales consultants on the road, installers out on location, and a sewing manufacturing fatory/workroom. We designed, manufactured and installed amazing window furnishing solutions. I made a decision to decrease the moving parts, and focus on what we did best. Over the next two years created a license manufacturing agreement for the workroom - transitioning from our own workroom, created a retail franchise system with PWC for the mobile showrooms to the home, launched an online store for readymade window furnishings, cushions and Manchester, and retained commercial operations (hotels, schools, hospitals, retirement villages, nursing homes) within the main business. A regular editorial contributor to Home and Design magazines, and featured weekly on channel 9 Top Design TV series
After relocation with ALDI to Indiana USA for one year to train and learn the ALDI business overseas, we returned to open ALDI Australia. A busy and successful schedule of fitting out stores, opening stores, hiring, training and promoting store management and staff, creating and settling in business systems, and retaining responsibility for the performance of many stores revenue and KPI achievements. As a team we disrupted the supermarket industry in Australia. My stores were always in the highest performing, and was the first to break and set new productivity benchmarks.
Aged 19, and having always wanted to work for myself, I started 'Home Style Interiors' providing soft furnishing and window furnishing solutions to the Sydney domestic market. Like all good first time businesses...I ran Home Style Interiors from the home garage.....often burning the midnight candle, but happily independent and learning all things business..... while completing University Business Degree.
