I was the founder an initial academic director of the EPFL Extension School. Its goal was to bring high tech digital skills to the world with online education, but the brand is now used today for the entirety of the EPFL continued education offering.

ITU & WHO have started a joint effort “AI for Health” to develop a benchmarking process of AI algorithms used in health. Goal: to create a standardized assessment framework with open benchmarks for the evaluation of AI-based methods for health. I was the head of a research group at the Center for Infectious Disease Dynamics, where I helped establish the new research area of Digital Epidemiology.
