In 25 years, I've managed safety across offshore oil and gas pipelines in the Arabian Gulf, post-war refinery reconstruction in Iraq, high-rise megaprojects across Egypt and the UAE, and now a 500MW solar farm and 300MW BESS portfolio in Upper Egypt. I hold Aramco's Two-Times HSE Manager Approval — one of the most demanding contractor vetting standards in the energy industry — and have led HSSE teams of up to 136 professionals covering workforces exceeding 32,000 people across Saudi Arabia, UAE, Iraq, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, Nigeria, and Egypt. My career includes senior roles at SubSea7, BP (via Medserv Regis on the West Nile Delta Gas Fields), Petrofac International, ENI Saipem, and JLL, and I currently serve as Egypt HSSE Head at AMEA Power, overseeing a portfolio that exceed 3,400MW of solar and BESS capacity at full build-out. I came into HSE through a B.S. in Computer Engineering and an MBA, which means I approach risk the way an engineer approaches a system: measure it, model it, and fix the root cause, not the symptom. Abydos 500MW Solar PV Plant Abydos 300MW Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) As Client HSSE Representative, Salah ensured that EPC HSSE plans, Construction Phase Plans, RAMS, and environmental and traffic management documentation were thoroughly reviewed and verified for suitability prior to construction, confirming alignment with permits, contractual obligations, and applicable legal requirements.
