A self directed, positive and action -oriented teacher with eight years of diverse experience in Education in Hong Kong. I am accustomed to working in multicultural environment that emphasises inclusion and fostering child- centered curriculum. During my teaching, I have worked with students who had English as a second language and ensured every child learning styles and needs are addressed. My approach towards teaching is committed to creating a classroom atmosphere that is simulating and encouraging to students and using my interpersonal and communication skills to foster meaningful relationships with students, staff and parents.
• To maintain an “English as an Alternative Language (EAL)” program to support all non-native speakers of English throughout the elementary school • To identify students eligible to participate in the EAL program. • To regularly assess and observe EAL students. • To provide ongoing support for all EAL students in order for them to access the school curriculum and to participate fully in school life. • To continue to design and produce EAL support teaching materials, and to adapt existing materials. • To support mainstream teachers in differentiation that focuses on the needs of EAL students in the EAL program, and also for other nonnative English speakers. • To provide regular feedback to parents and to collaborate with teachers concerning progress of EAL students. • To engage in professional development, both in providing information about EAL to other members of staff, and in receiving information concerning EAL. • To teach students according to their educational needs, including the setting and marking of all classwork and coursework. • Give verbal or written diagnostic feedback as required. • To undertake assessment of students as requested by Learning Areas and school procedures. • To monitor, evaluate, record and report on the attendance, progress, development and attainment of students. • To integrate ICT into learning activities.
Be an exemplary teacher, clearly demonstrating effective planning, teaching and organisation, and high standards of achievement and behavior in lessons. Monitor and record progress set targets and report progress to class teachers. Support pupils in the classroom and or in groups. Provide support, individual and group interventions for identified groups of targeted students. Develop individual learning programs for EAL pupils. Audit and assess students’ language levels
