I am currently an Engineering leader at Meta Platforms operating at the intersection of AI, large-scale distributed systems, and monetization. I build and scale AI-native platforms that power global products leveraging generative AI, autonomous systems, and advanced ML to drive step-function improvements in performance, reliability, and engineering velocity. My focus is on re-architecting systems for the AI era: evolving traditional cloud and data platforms into intelligent, self-optimizing infrastructure. I have a proven track record in building 0→1 and 1→N platforms, driving org-wide transformation, and embedding AI into the core of engineering, product, and operations. Engineering leader at Facebook in the Ads organization. Lead multiple teams that are working on building a platform and scaling infrastructure to meet the needs of millions of businesses that advertise on the Facebook family of apps. Improving advertiser experiences and ensuring advertisers have access to timely, accurate and deterministic data to make informed decisions is at the forefront of what my teams do. The problem spaces we are dealing with include large distributed systems, analytics, big data, ML, reliability, performance, data privacy and security.
I led a large multi discipline engineering organization for IoT Data Services where we were working to shape the digital technologies that will power the next industrial revolution! IoT Data Services develops and maintains services and software that helps industrial and enterprise IoT customers use the cloud in concert with their existing operational technologies. I managed teams that built and operated four AWS IoT services. AWS IoT Analytics provides foundational support for ingesting, cleaning and preparing IoT data. AWS IoT SiteWise makes it easy to connect on-premises industrial databases to the cloud, including an on-premises component running Greengrass, queuing and buffering, plus detailed information schemas to make sense of the raw data. AWS IoT Events provides a stateful event detection system that supports triggers and notifications using sophisticated logic on IoT data. AWS IoT Things Graph provides an easy way to virtually connect different devices and web services to build IoT applications.
I led the Security team for EC2, an organization working on cutting edge tools, services and automation in the cloud security space. Our goal is to continuously improve the security posture of EC2 by preventing, detecting and mitigating internal and external security threats. We also detect and mitigate outbound abuse from the EC2 platform in order to improve overall customer experience. Our team’s services include host intrusion prevention and detection, detection and mitigation of outbound abuse from the EC2 platform, identity management, certificate management, access and authorization, firewall rules management, operational tooling among others.
Managed a large global organization (120+) engaged in product development of smart grid software focused on the power & utilities sector. Heavy emphasis on both product management and product development. Managed a multi-million dollar R&D budget, offshore teams in Brazil and Canada, entire product portfolio, and large development projects using agile methodologies. Products included Energy Management , Advanced Distribution Management, Microgrid Management, Demand Response, Distributed Energy Resource Management etc. Also had extensive experience with engineering services and custom add-ons built on top of the core product.
