Undertaking a 3-month internship at Hume Brophy as a Public Relations and Public Affairs intern both in the Financial Services and Digital PR sectors. Communicating with various journalists, MPs and companies to increase engagement, coverage and reputation. Further communicating and strategising with clients and various Magazines and Outlets to secure pre-embargo exclusive interviews. Further immersing myself in learning and exercising new skills across creating and managing social media content for clients. Successfully completed a data cleanse between 5 offices, locating various SoW and contracts to filter through active and non-active clients.
Successfully completed a 3-month internship at asset management and firm Polar Capital. Focused on trade matching to ensure trades in various regions were matched, allocated and settled on time. Liaised and communicated with custodians and brokers such as Northern Trust, UBS, Oppenheimer, Jefferies, Bank of America, BNP and Goldman Sachs to ensure trades were matched correctly based on net cash, commission rate, conversion rates, etc. Utilised my own Bloomberg terminal to oversee trade allocation and manually edit trades to the correct amounts. In doing so, I was able to allocate assets before regional market closures to ensure trade settlement.
Undertook a 1 month volunteer and later intern experience at Angoville. I became a programme coordinator where we ran a week-long programme for non-English speakers to learn more about the English language, improve their confidence, improve their pronunciations and prepare a presentation with them on a topic of their choice to present to the entire group. We ran a programme based on games and an alternative curriculum - this saw heightened levels of engagement, motivation and enthusiasm.
Undertook a ten-day placement at the University of Oxford as part of their summer school. I further Immersed myself in behind-the-scenes research with world-leading experts in the Art History, History and Classics field and alumni. I further shadowed Third and Fourth-year students with their studies, assignment writing, library, and research skills. I was tasked with creating a presentation under the supervision of Professor Gervase that looked at foreign artefacts in Oxford's Ashmolean Museum. This presentation allowed me to utilise Oxford's resources to complete extensive background research, such as the context in which it was created, the symbolism of the artefact, similarities across art history and its use and its legacy.
